Ngunan Adamu will host Bloom on 8th May in Camp and Furnace.

We’re excited to announce our host for Bloom is BBC presenter and Baltic Creative board member, Ngunan Adamu! Ngunan’s prolific career as a journalist, broadcaster, and project manager has seen her traverse continents, from the landscapes of Africa to the bustling cities of Asia.

2023 saw Ngunan step into the Eurovision spotlight as one of the co-hosts of Eurovisioncast. The podcast, produced by the BBC, celebrated Liverpool hosting the prestigious song contest. Ngunan quickly became a Scouse representative for Eurovision and an ambassador for Liverpool’s exciting cultural scene on the international stage!

Currently, Ngunan celebrates Liverpool’s Black community every Monday evening with BBC Radio Merseyside’s ‘Upfront’ show. The show is a blend of everything from vintage soul to the latest R&B and rap hits. Plus insightful interviews with local and international Black artists. It’s a platform that celebrates the richness and diversity of Black music and culture in our city and beyond.

Championing diversity and empowerment

Beyond the airwaves, Ngunan is an advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion, leading initiatives that challenge the status quo and foster cultural change. Her work spans across arts, religion, and technology, where she contributes to projects with a local, national, and international scope.

Her leadership role as a non-executive director at Baltic Creative CIC has been invaluable, adding an entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to the creative and digital sector that aligns with our mission to support and grow the community.

In 2016, Ngunan used her experience to start iWoman Media Ltd. The organisation empowers women through digital and creative skills, showing that technology can be a powerful tool for women’s advancement and equality.
