Join Us as Chair of the Board
Baltic Creative Community Interest Company is seeking to appoint a new Chair of the Board. We are keen to ensure we have the vision, capacity and skills to oversee the next phase of our ambitious and inclusive growth plans and continue to support the Creative and Digital sector in the region.
About Baltic Creative CIC
Baltic Creative CIC was established in 2009, with the main ambition to support the growth of Creative & Digital Industries in Liverpool through the development of property. Through a sector led, community ownership model we now manage 120,000 sq ft of space supporting over 80 companies. We have been the catalyst for the regeneration and establishment of the Baltic Triangle area and have become the place for the C&D sector in Liverpool to prosper.
Our Model and Impact
Our CIC status is what makes the business unique. We keep our properties asset-locked. We reinvest all profits into three areas: our properties, our tenants, and the Creative and Digital sector.
In 2020 we changed our Memorandum & Articles, which broadened our concept and remit to include the Liverpool City Region’s six boroughs.
Remuneration and Expenses
We are able to offer remuneration of £4000 per annum to the successful candidate. Other reasonable expenses, including care responsibility costs are also covered.
Board Commitment
We expect board members to attend four board meetings each year and to actively engage in the organisation’s culture and community on an ongoing basis. This may include supporting the management and operational team and advocating for the sector in an inclusive and positive way. The board currently holds meetings on the last Tuesday of February, May, August, and November. Meetings usually last two hours.
What We’re Looking For
Experience and commitment to the creative and digital sector and sector growth in our region should be demonstrable. Please refer to the Job Description and, if relevant, include your experience or skills and any previous or current involvement within the creative and digital sector.
The term of the role is for 3 years with an additional 3 years by agreement with the board.
We will invite shortlisted candidates to meet our CEO, Lynn Haime, in the first instance.
At Baltic Creative, we value diversity and actively foster an inclusive workplace. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and do not discriminate on any basis.
