We’re delighted to welcome OCONN Studio to the Baltic Creative community as one of our newest virtual office tenants. Founded by George O’Connor, OCONN Studio brings a fresh, detail-driven approach to photography that combines international experience with a deep love for visual storytelling.
After several years working professionally in Germany, photographer George O’Connor has returned to Liverpool and launched a new chapter in his creative practice under the name OCONN Studio. While he continues to shoot under his own name, OCONN Studio acts as the banner for all his photographic work – ranging from intimate portraiture and commercial campaigns to behind-the-scenes storytelling and editorial reportage.

Meet the Studio
OCONN Studio is currently a one-person operation, with the silent support of Connor’s cat, Koshka – the self-appointed creative director who occupies every available sunbeam. With professional experience spanning both Germany and the UK, Connor has produced portraits, editorial features, and commercial imagery for a diverse range of clients. His portfolio includes work for individuals and small businesses, as well as major international brands such as Amazon, Uber Eats, and NDR/ARD Mediathek.
Although much of his work is carried out independently, he regularly partners with stylists, artists, and other creatives depending on the scale and nature of each project.

Becoming Part of Baltic Creative
After relocating back to Liverpool, Connor was eager to re-establish himself within the city’s creative community. Joining Baltic Creative CIC as a virtual tenant offered the perfect balance: a way to connect with like-minded creatives without the need for a physical studio space right away.
On joining Baltic Creative, George says:
“After returning from Germany, I was looking for a way to get connected with Liverpool’s creative community without immediately committing to a physical studio space. Baltic Creative stood out for its reputation, atmosphere, and network – a place where independent makers and thinkers genuinely feel welcome, right in the heart of the Baltic Triangle.”
OCONN Studio has had a busy few months:
- Documentary Project: George worked behind the scenes on a feature documentary for NDR/ARD Mediathek, capturing the rhythms of coastal life in and around Liverpool. The programme is set to air in Germany this autumn.
- Commercial Campaign: He recently completed a commercial shoot for MSP Global – the full story is available on his blog post, ‘MSP Global: A Portrait of 25 Years’.
- Personal Work: Connor finalised a new portrait series based on personal experience, reflecting on themes of illness, resilience, and care. He is currently exploring opportunities to exhibit the work publicly.
- Playful Print Series: A lighter project is also in development – a mini-print and postcard collection inspired by studio cat Koshka and the everyday hostilities of housecat life. The series is expected to launch later this year.
Welcome to Baltic Creative, George!
