As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re shining a spotlight on one of our tenants whose mission is to make mental health support more accessible, inclusive and effective — The Mind Map.

Founded in 2017, The Mind Map was born out of personal experience. Its founder, Philip Bridges, a qualified journalist, created the platform after struggling to find help for depression, anxiety, OCD and ADHD — challenges that had been present throughout his life. These experiences fuelled a determination to raise awareness, improve access to support, and educate workplaces on how to better look after people’s mental health.

What began as a content-led initiative has grown into a comprehensive online and offline resource. On the digital side, The Mind Map hosts The Daily Mind — an online magazine where culturally significant figures like Sam Fender have opened up about their own approaches to staying mentally well. The website, currently undergoing an exciting revamp, offers free mental health courses, practical information, and a signposting tool to guide users towards appropriate support services.

In the community and workplace, The Mind Map delivers impactful mental health training and has led free counselling initiatives in areas such as L8 and Liverpool city centre. Most recently, the organisation has launched MindClass — a workplace wellbeing platform where employers can book counselling, access educational content, complete courses and use AI-powered tools for productivity and relaxation.

Alongside this work, Philip has also been training to become a counsellor, a journey that has influenced both personal development and the future direction of the organisation.

Proudly based in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, The Mind Map thrives in its creative and digital surroundings. The team makes wonderful use of Baltic Creative’s Shed space to deliver First Aid For Mental Health training – a setting that mirrors their ethos: relaxed, educational and focused on normalising mental health conversations.
