About this Event
Has anyone ever told you to count to ten when you’ve been feeling angry or stressed? That ten seconds, or indeed ten minutes, can go a long way in giving the brain and the body time to sort out the chemical mess when we’re at boiling point. Technically, those ten minutes or seconds that you focus your brain on something other than the stresses, is a form of mindfulness.
Mindfulness is a popular term in the wellness world but what does it actually mean, why should we do it and what are the benefits of introducing it to our daily routine? The team at TLC know it’s not just sitting crossed legged in a quiet room chanting with joss sticks. It’s taking a walk, it’s having a brew and (our favourite) it’s eating chocolate and really taking time out of your day to focus on something calming and positive.
In this session, we’ll explain why Mindfulness can be beneficial, we will look at some options of how you can implement it and hopefully, we can inspire you to bring a little calm into your every day.
This session is an hour long and will be delivered by Lee Fishwick (Director of Training and Personal Development at TLC) who’s a teacher and a trainer who specialises in stress, anxiety and the power of positive psychology and mindset
