At #Bloom2025, our ‘How Music Makes Cities Better’ discussion features Jett Glozier (Sound Diplomacy) in conversation with Craig Pennington (Future Yard CIC) to discuss the economic impact of culture, music tourism and the visitor economy, and how it can co-exist successfully and sustainably in our cities.

Jett is the global lead on all cultural infrastructure projects for Sound Diplomacy. With a portfolio encompassing the comprehensive design, evaluation, and feasibility of diverse projects, he specialises in music venues, arenas, cultural hubs, and placemaking cultural districts. His focus extends to business planning and cultural policy, with a particular emphasis on the viability and strategy for new multi-use venues, creative studios, festivals, and events. In his role at Sound Diplomacy, Jett has successfully spearheaded cultural infrastructure projects in major global hubs, including London, Manchester, Sydney, Singapore, and various locations across the United States. Noteworthy achievements include leading the delivery of the cultural strategy for the Earl’s Court Development Company Masterplan in London and serving as an executive consultant for the new Arts Venue at The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh.

Future Yard’s model reimagines a Community Music Venue as a space for dynamic social change, providing skills and training opportunities for young people, creative and community development alongside a live programme blending international touring artists (Bodega, Black Country New Road, JP Cooper, OMD, Pongo, Gruff Rhys, Sierra Ferrell, BC Camplight +++) with emerging local talent. Despite launching during the COVID-19 pandemic, the venue has established itself as one of the UKs most dynamic new music organisations and a positive force for change, gathering praise from national and international press. Future Yard is a key anchor in Birkenhead’s regeneration framework and Town Deal programme working in partnership with local council and regional government to bring about vital social impact.
